‘Hello Koalas’ is a public sculpture trail in Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia that is dedicated to celebrate and raise the awareness of the importance of protecting koalas and their habitat. There are a total of 68 hand painted koala sculptures scattered around the region. The pictures below were taken during my trip to Port Macquarie last year (September 2018). We weren’t able to visit all 68 sculptures because some of them are located further away from the town centre and only accessible by private transportation. However, we still managed to cover 38 koala sculptures using public transportation and our good old feet. Note that the collection is constantly changing and moving so there is a chance that some of the sculptures featured below would have moved elsewhere or no longer on display. You can visit the Hello Koalas website to find out more.
On this note, I inform that this blog is now retired. Thank you so much for all the wonderful memories you’ve given me. I have a new blog called, um, Dear Walden. Hope to see you there!

Cool sculptures! Every time I see the koalas they are sleeping though, not all awake like the sculptures 😀
I love the blue you used for your new blog. Looking forward to your first kitty pics post😻
4 years go by so fast. So fast. I’ve found lately that days drag, but years fly.

Koalas and cats are my spirit animals because they spend the majority of their time sleeping! 🐨 😸 😴
I love the blue too, it’s a pity however that I can only do that for the About page. The background is white for the rest of the pages.
Time flies but some days seem to drag. I always feel like that but didn’t know how to describe it. “Days drag, but years fly” – that’s exactly how it feels. This is so brilliant, I’m going to quote you on that from now on 👏😆

I love the variety of the artists’ visions for bringing each koala sculpture to life with its own personality. Here in the US, I’ve seen mermaids, moose, and cows featured in this type of public sculpture display.

They have a map showing their various locations and we (my mum and I) had fun walking around looking for them. It’s a great activity. Mermaids would be interesting.

Was saddened to see that this blog is retired but immediately cheered up by the fact that you have a new one!
What prompted the change?

The main reason for the change is because my media storage space is approaching its limit and I didn’t want to pay to upgrade it so I created a new site. Thanks for reading!
